What do Kaui and Williamsburg, VA have in common?Posted by: nancym 3 years, 1 month ago
The answer: a visit from Katy Titus! CoSA's Musical Theatre and Drama senior spent a week in balmy Kaui, then headed to William and Mary College in Williamsburg, VA. Katy took a three-week course on Early American History, which she loves. She said the three weeks gave her a feel for what it will be like to be a college student because she and her classmates stayed in the dorm, ate in the cafeteria and studied like crazy.
The highlight of the course was a visit to Jamestown. "Jamestown is the origin of our country. It was the first permanent, English-speaking settlement in North America and led to the formation of the 13 colonies. There's so much myth surrounding Jamestown - Pocahontas and John Smith -- but that visit showed me that the truth is way more fascinating than the myth," said Titus.Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
