Katie Walker is Artistic DirectorPosted by: nancym 1 year, 3 months ago
Katie Walker, Musical Theatre class of 2013, recently checked in from UC Santa Barbara, where she will be entering her senior year in the fall. "Recently I've started working as an Artistic Director for a theater non profit here in Santa Barbara and absolutely loving it. Most of my work these days centers on teaching theater and using it as a tool to empower, give voice, resolve conflict, and expand imaginations." Katie will be busy this summer with two jobs: working with the Los Prietos Boys Camp in a program called The Odyssey Project, and working at a summer retreat for students with learning disabilities to teach them movement and improv.
"I am still involved with improv, and am the president of our Sketch 'N' Sniff long form and sketch comedy team here at UCSB. I also serve as the Chairman of UCSB's IV Arts Board that brings theater to our college community," says Katie. "I really do believe that CoSA put me on the path for all that I have achieved so far."
